Please Respect Our Site and the Countryside: There will be bins EVERYWHERE at Sunkfest and please remember that this is someone’s home who has been awesome enough to let you come party so PLEASE make sure all rubbish goes in the bins, ESPECIALLY bottle caps and ring pulls (they make our lawn mower cry). Cig butts are fine on the floor (but in an empty beer can which can be put into a bin by you is even better). Please also take extra care not to drop litter in the parking field or the ditches surrounding Sunkfest.
DO NOT BRING: Pets (only guide dogs for the blind and deaf are permitted), Laser pens, Air Horns, Fireworks, Glass (please use plastic containers), Chinese Style Lanterns, Illegal Substances: It is a condition of entry on our licence that you allow yourself and your belongings to be searched by Security staff. They will carry out random searches when you are entering the festival campsite and arena.
BRING: Your Ticket, ID if you wish to purchase alcohol and are lucky enough to appear under 21 years of age, Plastic containers/bottles to carry drinks and water, Sunscreen/hat/glasses, Thick jacket/sweatshirt/fleece (the sun may be beaming but it gets cold at night), Waterproof jacket (we pray for sun, but you never know), loo roll, bin bags, a camping chair and torch.
[cs_tab_item title=”General” tabs=”tabs”][cs_toggle title=”Where is Sunk Fest held?”]Sunk Island, which is a small countryside hamlet in East Yorkshire, about 18 miles East of Kingston Upon Hull. [/cs_toggle][cs_toggle title=”How do I get to Sunk Fest?”]The easiest way is via our coach trip! This takes you from Hull city centre to the doorstep of Sunk Fest on the Saturday, and back to Hull again on the Monday. Tickets can be purchased in our online ticket shop. Postcode for Sat Navs is HU12 0QR and the house number is 39 or 40. If you are using public transport (though be aware that’s going to be more hassle not to mention more expensive than our own coach), you will need to get the East Yorkshire Service 75/76/77 from Hull station and get off at Patrington (at a cost of around £5). For up to date bus times please refer to the East Yorkshire Bus website at www.eyms.co.uk. From Patrington, Sunk Fest is a short car or taxi ride (around £6 in cost). Local taxi numbers include Tony’s Taxi’s : 01964 630878 or McKinley Cabs 01964 631086[/cs_toggle][cs_toggle title=”What should I bring (and NOT bring) to Sunk Fest?”]PLEASE BRING: Your Ticket (duplicate tickets will not be issued under any circumstances), ID if you wish to purchase alcohol and are lucky enough to appear under 25 years of age, Plastic containers/bottles to carry drinks and water: remember NO GLASS is permitted, Sunscreen/hat/glasses, Thick jacket/sweatshirt/fleece (the sun may be beaming but it gets cold at night), Waterproof jacket (we pray for sun, but you never know), loo roll, bin bags, a camping chair and torch.
DO NOT BRING: Pets (only guide dogs for the blind and deaf are permitted), Laser pens, Air Horns (They are not permitted, for the sanity of those around you), Fireworks (Any fireworks found on entry search and thereafter will be confiscated ad you may be refused entry into Sunk Fest), Glass (please use plastic containers, it’s just not fair for our staff volunteers to get cut on glass when clearing up the site), Chinese Style Lanterns (They’re not permitted due to the large amount of stubble fields and possible dry weather in August), Illegal Substances: It is a condition of entry on our licence that you allow yourself and your belongings to be searched by Security staff. They will carry out random searches when you are entering the festival campsite and arena. Do not attempt to bring in illegal substances as you stand a very real chance of being caught.[/cs_toggle][cs_toggle title=”Will there be anywhere to park my car?”]There will once again be free parking in the field next to Sunk Fest thanks to the awesome farmer who owns it but PLEASE do not drop rubbish in the field or he may stop letting us do this! Likewise DO NOT throw rubbish down the ditches that surround Sunk Fest, respect the countryside and use the bins provided.[/cs_toggle][cs_toggle title=”Can I bring my own drinks?”]You can bring your own drinks, as much as you want, into Sunk Fest: Glass bottles are NOT allowed, so please make sure you transfer all drinks into plastic bottles. Bags will be randomly searched by our security staff on arrival and glass will be confiscated.[/cs_toggle][cs_toggle title=”Will I be able to buy food and drinks on site?”]Yes! We have a fully licensed can and bottle bar. Our experienced bar-staff will be operating a challenge 25 policy. No ID = no sale. Anyone found purchasing alcohol for people who are underage will be ejected from the event. Our bar-staff are giving up their time for free so please don’t give them any hassle and the bar managers decision on any issue is final. PLEASE DRINK RESPONSIBLY. If you are too drunk, you will not be getting served. A food van will be in operation throughout the weekend, including mornings for breakfasts. We are keeping the prices as low as we possibly can so you can rest assured everything will be affordable. You are of course also welcome to bring any food of your own but please dispose of rubbish in the bins provided.[/cs_toggle][cs_toggle title=”Will I be able to leave and return to Sunk Fest throughout the day (for beer runs etc)?”]During the day you will be permitted to leave the site if you need to in order to restock at the local shops etc. The local shops shut at 6pm and therefore no pass-outs will be permitted after this time as, unless you are going home, there will be no need to. Please respect our neighbours and the local community/countryside at all times.[/cs_toggle][cs_toggle title=”Can I bring my dog?”]No animals will be admitted into Sunk Fest other than assistance or guide dogs for the disabled.[/cs_toggle][cs_toggle title=”Can my children attend?”]Yes, but please keep them supervised and entertained at all times (we recommend you bring along some toys or games for them) Children under 10 years of age can attend Sunk Fest for free, and should wear suitable ear defenders to protect against loud music. Children over 10 need a ticket. All under 16’s must be accompanied by an adult over the age of 18.[/cs_toggle]
[cs_tab_item title=”Tickets” tabs=”tabs”]
[cs_toggle title=”Where can I buy tickets?”]This year you can purchase, download and print your own tickets (or if you don’t have a printer, we can print and post them to you) with our online booking system, just navigate to the “Tickets” menu item on our website.[/cs_toggle][cs_toggle title=”I don’t have a PayPal account…”]You can pay by credit or debit card as well as your PayPal. PayPal handles all our online payments: if you want to pay by a credit or debit card, upon checkout look for the “Pay with a debit or credit card” option on the PayPal screen.[/cs_toggle][cs_toggle title=”Can you save me a ticket/t-shirt until my pay day?”]No, sorry but it’s first come first served. Plan accordingly and purchase your ticket as early as you can to avoid disappointment: we have completely sold out of tickets for 3 years previous.[/cs_toggle][cs_toggle title=”Can I pay with cash?”]No. We are only accepting online payments/purchases through our website. If you do not have a PayPal account or a debit/credit card, we suggest giving your cash to a friend who does so they can purchase your ticket online for you.[/cs_toggle][cs_toggle title=”Can I buy a ticket/pay on the door on the day?”]No, you must buy a ticket through our website prior to the day: we have a limit on the maximum number of people allowed on site because of safety and fire regulations. This means we cannot let people pay on the door, as we cannot predict the number of people that will turn up.[/cs_toggle]
[cs_toggle title=”Do children need a ticket?”]Children under 10 years of age can attend Sunk Fest for free, and should wear suitable ear defenders to protect against loud music. Children over 10 will need a ticket. All under 16’s must be accompanied by an adult over the age of 18. If you would like to bring your child to Sunk Fest please make sure they are supervised at all times, and throw us an email to let us know they are coming.[/cs_toggle][cs_toggle title=”Are camping tickets for each tent or per person?”]Camping tickets are per person NOT per tent. So for example if 4 of you are coming to Sunk Fest and all staying in the same tent you still need 4 camping tickets.[/cs_toggle][cs_toggle title=”What type of ticket do I need to be able to use a campervan to stay over?”]Small campervans and trailer tents can be parked in the car park and you do not need a camping ticket to sleep over in them: just a normal weekend or day ticket. Caravans and large campervans/tour buses are prohibited (they are just too large and run a large risk of getting stuck in the field).[/cs_toggle][cs_toggle title=”When will my tickets be delivered?”] If you have chosen the option of “post tickets to me” instead of downloading and printing them yourself, please note they will not be delivered until a couple of weeks before Sunk Fest. If you have any concerns regarding delivery please contact us using the form on this website’s contact page.[/cs_toggle]
[cs_tab_item title=”Camping” tabs=”tabs”][cs_toggle title=”What size tent can I bring?”]We ask that you keep your tent size as small as possible, and at MAXIMUM a 4 man tent: we just can’t fit in anything larger. We have a small site to fit a lot of you in. Upon arrival you will be directed where to camp. PLEASE listen to instructions (imagine tent-tetris) so we can fit everybody in. We have a large hangover area, plenty of places to chill out and keep from the rain so you will literally just need your tent to sleep in, nothing more. If we all try our best to bring as compact a tent as possible, it makes the camp site so much more comfortable, and therefore enjoyable for everybody :)[/cs_toggle][cs_toggle title=”Are gazebos allowed in the campsite?”]We’re sorry but no they are not permitted: our camping room is too limited.[/cs_toggle][cs_toggle title=”Can I rent a tent from you?”]No. if you have booked a camping pitch then you need to bring your own camping gear. We may offer this service in the future but for now please bring your own tent![/cs_toggle][cs_toggle title=”Can I camp next to my car?”]No tents are allowed in the car park due to fire regulations.[/cs_toggle][cs_toggle title=”Are camp fires allowed?”]Fires are not permitted in any area and will be extinguished.[/cs_toggle][cs_toggle title=”Can I bring a camping stove or BBQ to Sunk Fest?”]Yes but only the small hex cookers or small disposable BBQs: strictly no petrol or gas fueled cookers are allowed. They MUST be used in the designated area of the campsite: please remember that for the rest of the year the Sunk Fest site is our home, and a burnt lawn is not very nice to look at! We will be setting up an area with patio slabs exclusively for BBQ/hex cooker use.[/cs_toggle][cs_toggle title=”When does the campsite open/close?”]The campsite is open from 12 noon on Saturday 29th August and closes at 10am on Monday 30th August: please make sure you have packed up and left by this time. Please don’t leave any tents/broken camping chairs etc: take them home and dispose of them accordingly.[/cs_toggle][cs_toggle title=”Is it far from the car park to the camp site?”]No not at all. The parking field is right next door to Sunk Fest, and even if you do get a parking space that is a bit further (i.e. you arrive a bit later on in the day) it is still under a 10 minute walk.[/cs_toggle]
